The Giver et. al.

I have newly discovered a book series. Have you read The Giver? She wrote two follow-up books entitled Gathering Blue and Messenger.
The wonderful thing about The Giver: she creates another civilization, with normal human beings, which is totally new and other. Their culture is strange, awful, fascinating to us as we read.
She keeps that quality and grows it with the next two novels. Finally, in the third, she manages to pull together the worlds and characters she's created together, and leaves you--well, left me--crazy for more.
it's so exciting to know that there are a few good books left out there the i haven't read. woot!

ps today josh and i have been married for eight months!
